Applications are invited for a post-doc to be employed as part of a comparative neuroimaging project entailing fMRI in dogs and humans. The project is part of an interdisciplinary collaboration between experts in social cognitive neuroscience and comparative cognition ("Convergent evolution of the social brain? A comparative dog-human fMRI approach").100% FTE, employment at University of Vienna, salary in lien with collective bargaining treaty
(net yearly salary around 35 k€), funding for 3 years. 

Anyone with a Ph.D. degree, interested in comparative neuroscience and in particular in (f)MRI scanning of dogs, and comparing their brain structure and function to those of humans, is invited to apply. 
Ideally, applicants have some background in comparative (neuroimaging) research. Experience in using MRI/fMRI in either humans or non-human animals is a prerequisite. 

The post holder will perform MRI and fMRI on dogs specifically trained (by an animal trainer) to lie motionless and without any sedation or major restrains in the scanner, while they engage in social neuroscience paradigms. The project is embedded in the Cognitive Science Hub (cognitivescience.ac.at), a special research focus area of the University of Vienna. The post-holder will be employed at the University of Vienna. Preferred starting date: Oct 1 2019, but this is somewhat negotiable.
