We're excited to share that the paper co-led by current and former lab members Boryana Todorova and Kimberly Doell on the data we collected with The International Climate Psychology Collaboration is now published! This work presents the largest climate psychology experiment to date! With 258 researchers from 63 countries, we gathered data from nearly 60,000 participants to test 11 interventions designed to drive climate action.
This global initiative offers the potential to advance our understanding of how different interventions, leveraging distinct psychological mechanisms, can drive climate action. Moreover, it allows researchers to study how psychological, demographic, and national-level factors impact climate change beliefs and behavior. By moving beyond WEIRD (Western, Educated, Industrialized, Rich, and Democratic) samples, our dataset can be used to gain truly diverse, global insights.
The most exciting part about it? As a result of the participants' engagement in the experiment and in collaboration with the Eden Reforestation Projects we planted 333,333 trees!!!
Together, we’re demonstrating the power of interdisciplinary and cross-border cooperation in addressing climate change. We can't wait to see how other researchers will use this resource to explore new questions and drive even more impactful climate action.
